When you hit 40-plus, you start caring less about your image in the mirror and shift your focus to more how you feel and the state of your health.
Hitting my 40s I started seeing a decrease in my metabolism and experienced hormonal fluctuations. The best way I found to counter those is to move your body every day. Activity doesn’t have to be intense everyday. A good split could be resistance-strength training 3-4 days a week, cardio and high-intensity interval training 2-3 days a week.
